Even with the future of the Premier League campaign in doubt, there can be no question that Liverpool have enjoyed yet another season of incredible success.

After their Champions League triumph last year, all eyes were on whether the Reds could finally overcome the final hurdle in the top-flight and pip Manchester City to the title.

29 games in, and Jurgen Klopp’s side have simply brushed aside any and all competitors, losing just once, and racking up an eye-watering 82 points.

One of the big talking points will no doubt be who has been the main star responsible for their achievements this season, and according to The Athletic’s James Pearce, the award for Liverpool’s Player of the Year should go to Jordan Henderson.

After hearing about Pearce’s claim, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the matter.

A couple of fans simply suggested Sadio Mane deserves to be named the club’s Player of the Year, with one supporter urging Pearce to “stop disrespecting” him.

For sheer influence, it’s difficult to argue against suggesting Henderson is right up there in the conversation for the club’s best player this season.

The captain has led by example whenever he’s taken to the field, with Klopp himself hailing the midfielder as “outstanding” and that “we couldn’t be in the situation we are without these kinds of characters”.

But the exploits of Mane this year have surely been the biggest dominating factor for the Reds. The Senegal international has eclipsed fellow winger Mohamed Salah, scoring 18 times and providing 12 assists, and has been the real spark in attack for Klopp’s men.

West Ham United fans have been interestingly debating whether Middlesbrough’s Britt Assombalonga would be a good signing for the club.

Assombalonga’s application and work-rate have previously been called into question, but the striker has registered 12 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign.

The forward’s 10th league goal of the season saw Boro overcome Blackburn Rovers on Sunday afternoon.

And that led to a number of West Ham supporters offering their views on whether the 26-year-old could be an asset to the Hammers.

The debate was kicked off by one particular account on Twitter and it would be fair to say that many struggled to agree whether their club should be looking at the forward.

It looks set to be an interesting summer transfer window for the Hammers, particularly when it comes to the final third of the field.

وأضاف: “سنرى ما يجب القيام به لتعويض اللاعبين المصابين، حيث أن ساندرو وديبالا ودي ليخت يغيبون للإصابة”.

وأكمل: “أنا أقوم بتدريب فريق مليء بالأبطال، الثنائي كولوسيفسكي وبيليجريني، يعرفان الأجواء في الدوري الإيطالي، لأن كلاهما لعبا أكثر من موسم هنا، بينما ماكيني وآرثر بحاجة إلى الاستقرار”.

وعن طريقة لعبه، قال: “لدي أفكاري، وساري لديه أفكاره، في حالات معينة يمكن أن نكون متشابهين، لكنني أريد التحكم في اللعب ولعب كرة القدم بطريقة هجومية”.

وواصل: “كريستيانو رونالدو وكولوسيفسكي سينسجمان مع بعضهما البعض مع الوقت، لدينا عدد من اللاعبين الرائعين في وسط الملعب الذين يمكنهم إمداد الهجوم بالتمريرات الرائعة”.

Sadio Mane struggled for form as Liverpool drew 0-0 with Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.

The Reds had the chance to take advantage of home comforts in the first leg but drew a blank, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino also in frustrating form.

But it was Mane who seemed to be at the centre of every major chance that fell Liverpool’s way.

Indeed, he showed signs that it might not be his night in the 15th minute, as he faced up Joshua Kimmich, turned him inside out and worked an angle for a shot. It was a wild effort and flew wide.

In the 32nd minute, he twisted to shoot first-time after a Naby Keita shot was deflected into his path, but he scuffed the effort and it did not trouble Manuel Neuer. An overhead kick in the second half was not even close.

Late on, a fine diving header drew an excellent save from the Germany goalkeeper but it was his only shot on target in the game.

While a member of a trio, when Mane fails to fire, Liverpool often struggle to create genuine moments of danger.

This was true on Tuesday, too, as, per WhoScored, Mane touched the ball just 37 times, the fewest of any Reds outfield player.

He completed just one dribble throughout the game, too, and was dispossessed five times, the most of any player on the pitch.

In total, Mane also committed three fouls, the joint-most of anyone except for Robert Lewandowski.

The Senegal international attempted a mere 17 passes, the least of any Liverpool player that started the game, and 13 lower than Alisson, who had the second-lowest tally for the home side.

Mane’s misfires ultimately stunted Liverpool’s attacking rhythm and robbed them of the dynamism that usually defines their forays forward.

Because of his poor form, the Reds could not sustain their pressure and now find themselves in need of a classic performance in Germany if they are to progress to the next round.

ذكرت تقارير صحفية فرنسية، أن نادي أولمبيك ليون، يتطلع للتعاقد مع مدافع برشلونة الإسباني، خلال الميركاتو الصيفي الحالي.

وقالت صحيفة “ليكيب” الفرنسية، إن ليون يدرس إعادة أومتيتي، الذي خرج من خطط رونالد كومان، المدير الفني لفريق برشلونة.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the west Midlands outfit were hosting the struggling Bluebirds – who are one of the teams battling Le Tissier’s former club Southampton in the top-flight relegation battle – but they rested a number of key players at the weekend and faced criticism from the 50-year-old on Soccer Saturday.

The decision was presumably made by manager Nuno Santo with the FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United on March 16 in mind, as Rui Patricio, Ruben Neves and Matt Doherty were among those missing from the XI.

Wolves of course ran out 2-0 winners in the end and when questioned by a fan on social media, Le Tissier responded with an apology having suggested last season’s Championship champions were risking bringing the game into disrepute.

Was he right to criticise?

Yes and no.

Can Wolves lift the FA Cup for the first time since 1960? The fans in the video below certainly think so…

Firstly, he is a pundit and therefore he is entitled to give his view on a situation as that is what he is paid to do, and this was potentially a big one if the Molineux-based outfit had made those changes and then slipped up.

Then again, Santo is allowed to make any team selection that he wants to make and if he wants to prioritise fitness for an important FA Cup clash, then there is no shame in that.

If Le Tissier didn’t have that Southampton connection, you have to wonder whether he would have had such a strong opinion on the matter, although you do have to say fair play to him for addressing the situation.

يحاول يوفنتوس أيضًا بيع لاعبين آخرين من بينهم ماتيا دي تشيليو وسامي خضيرة، ويتفاوض لاعب خط الوسط الألماني على إنهاء عقده مع يوفنتوس.

وعرض النادي البالغ 2.5 مليون يورو لإلغاء عقد اللاعب لا يكفي لنجم ريال مدريد السابق الذي يطالب بأجر 6 ملايين يورو بالكامل عن عامه الأخير من العقد.

وبالنسبة لدي تشيليو، كان هناك اهتمام من قبل الأندية الإسبانية ولكن لا توجد عروض محددة للاعب ميلان السابق.
