Gary O'Neil worked wonders with Wolves last season, guiding them well clear of the relegation zone and into Premier League midtable, but may need reinforcements to do so again.

After missing out on a striker in January, Chairman Jeff Shi has already confirmed that the club "are going to sign one or two number nines this summer", while they also could require another wide man, even if Pedro Neto remains at the club.

Wolves eye up winger in £15m+ move

Now, it has emerged that Wolves are tracking Paraguayan winger Ramon Sosa as they look to add firepower to their attack this summer, with talks said to have gone well with the player's representatives.

Sosa, who was previously wanted by Chelsea and Strasbourg owners BlueCo, has been described in glowing terms by analyst Ben Mattinson on X.

Chennai Super Kings have extended their quarantine period and have postponed the start of their IPL training camp to September 1. The Super Kings landed in Dubai on August 21 and were expected to start training on Friday, but ESPNcricinfo understands they have extended their quarantine beyond the mandatory six-day period put in place by the IPL. The tournament begins on September 19, but the IPL is yet to announce a schedule.It could not be confirmed exactly why the Super Kings have opted to stay indoors at the team hotel in Dubai. There has also been no official communication sent out by the franchise. Kasi Viswanathan, the Super Kings chief executive officer, did not respond to calls.As per the IPL’s Covid-19 protocols, all teams would have to undergo a test at the airport upon landing in the UAE followed by two tests at the team hotel on days 3 and 6 during the mandatory six-day quarantine at the hotel. Only after all test results come out negative the teams are allowed to start training.ESPNcricinfo understands other teams are already monitoring the developments in the Super Kings camp. Another franchise official said they even urged the IPL to issue an advisory to all teams to update everybody about the test results of all teams.The development also means the Super Kings will be the last franchise to start training for the tournament. Rajasthan Royals have already held two training sessions as they and Kolkata Knight Riders were the first two teams to land in the UAE (on August 20). Now, the Lilywhites are keen to build upon that success and will use the summer transfer window to buy into Postecoglou's style of play, with the Australian having already revealed major changes are needed.

"We’ve had two windows and we’ve had some development of players, for sure, but when I say we’ve still got a long way to go, that’s what I’m talking about. We can’t be there yet because it’s impossible to say you’re going to have drastic change and yet expect everyone to be on that journey. It’s not for the want of trying..it’s just that we’re going to play a certain way, we’re going to train a certain way and we’re going to have a certain mindset, and that’s not for everyone", he explained at the beginning of May.

"I’ve got to change this squad, I have to. Because I’ve got to build a squad I think can play our football. For that to happen, there has to be exits. I can't just keep everyone here and keep bringing in players. So sometimes you let people go who you think ‘he’s a good player’ but how am I going to change if I don’t do that."

Now, Spurs and Postecoglou are ready to live up to those comments.

As per Football Insider, Spurs will kickstart their summer by trying to sell the midfielder "straight away" when he returns from Galatasaray, with there being no plans to reintegrate him into Postecoglou's squad.

Whether a buyer can be found is another matter, but with Ndombele not having featured for the Lilywhites since January 2022, a permanent departure is likely best for all parties.

فازت قائمة هاني أبو ريدة في انتخابات اتحاد الكرة المصري، التي أقيمت اليوم الثلاثاء، بمركز المنتخبات الوطنية “مشروع الهدف”، بمدينة السادس من أكتوبر.

وفتح اتحاد الكرة في التاسعة صباح اليوم باب التسجيل أمام الأندية لحضور اجتماع الجمعية العمومية.

وحضر ممثلو 113 ناديًا، أبرزهم الأهلي ممثلًا عنه حسام غالي، والزمالك ممثلًا عنه أحمد سليمان.

وحصلت قائمة هاني أبو ريدة في انتخابات اتحاد الكرة على 107 أصوات من أصل 115 صوتاً.

وشهدت الجمعية العمومية اليوم انتخاب مجلس جديد لإدارة الكرة المصرية، وتقدمت قائمة المهندس هانى أبو ريدة عضو المكتب التنفيذى بالاتحادين الدولى والإفريقى، بأوراق ترشحها لانتخابات اتحاد الكرة، بينما لم تتقدم أى قائمة أخرى قبل غلق باب الترشح.

وتضم القائمة كلاً من هانى أبو ريدة رئيسًا، وخالد الدرندلى نائبا، وفى العضوية أحمد حلمى الشريف، حمادة الشربينى، مصطفى أبوزهرة، طارق محمد أبوالعينين، وليد عبد الجواد، محمد أبو حسين، والإعلامية إيناس مظهر.

يرى محسن صالح، عضو اللجنة الفنية السابق بالنادي الأهلي، أن الفريق يمر بمرحلة صعبة مع السويسري مارسيل كولر المدير الفني، مشيراً إلى أنه يجب التعاقد مع مهاجم جديد بجانب وسام أبو علي، ويروي تفاصيل انضمام أنتوني موديست.

ويستعد الأهلي لمواجهة فريق شباب بلوزداد الجزائري يوم الأحد القادم في ثالث جولات دور المجموعات لبطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وقال محسن صالح في تصريحات عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “إذا تعاقد الأهلي مع مهاجم يجب أن يكون أفضل من وسام أبو علي”.

وبسؤاله: “لو أنت المدير الفني هل كنت ستترك كهربا يسدد ركلة الجزاء أمام باتشوكا؟” أجاب: “لا طبعًا، لو أنا مكانه لن يسدد ركلة الجزاء، كهربا طمع في تسديد ركلة الجزاء، حالة كهربا الفنية لم تكن تسمح له بالمشاركة أمام باتشوكا”.

وأفاد: “الأهلي يمر بمرحلة صعبة جدًا مع عقلية كولر، ولا بد أن يغير علقيته ويكون هناك مرونة وعدالة مع اللاعبين”.

هل عندما كنت رئيس للجنة التخطيط كنت مقتنع برضا سليم؟ أجاب: “100% والمدرب أيضًا، يمتلك كل الإمكانيات والمميزة المطلوبة للنادي الأهلي، لكن في الأخر قرار المدير الفني في مشاركة اللاعب”.

كيف وافقت على موديست؟ أجاب: “انضم للأهلي قبل مباراة السوبر في السعودية، أنا شاهدته في المطار عندما كنا مسافرين، كان كولر أخذ قراره وأصر عليه والخطيب اضطر أن يوافق لأنه كان لا يوجد لدينا أحد، وسألت مين ده قالوه موديست وكولر هو الذي رشحه، فلجنة التخطيط لم تتنافش في موضوع موديست هذا كان قرار المدير الفني، واللجنة اتظلمت في هذا الملف وتحلمنا الكثير ونعمل في صمت”.

واستمر: “حتى أخر لحظة كولر كان غير موافق على رحيل موديست، لجنة التخطيط والخطيب وقفوا في موضوع مد الشهرين له، الخطيب كان مستاء جدًا من مستوى اللاعب”.

وأردف: “عندما وجدنا أنه خطر على الفريق وكان هناك قرار صارم من الخطيب جلس مع كولر وقال له بكره موديست يمشي وبالفعل حدث ذلك”.

وفيما يخص يوسف أيمن قال: “كولر كان مقتنع به وكان موافق على انضمامه، كل الصفقات التي أتت واتعرضت عليه في الأول وشاهد كل الفيديوهات أكثر من مرة، كل الأسماء المتواجدة حاليًا سواء الأساسي أو الأحتياطي وافق عليها”.

وأتم: “محمود الخطيب مؤمن بمبدأ أنه يجب أن تعطي الصلاحيات للمدرب لكي لا يأتي في النهاية ويقول أنت من اختارت، وأنا كرئيس لجنة تخطيط لا أستطيع أن أفرض رأيي على مدير فني، ممكن أقول له ملاحظة على لاعب لم يشارك أو مستواه تراجع ولكن لا املك أقول له الروشته، ومارسيل كولر مدرب عنيد ولا يتقبل النصحية”.

Além da artilharia no Brasileirão, Luciano foi um dos dez principais goleadores do futebol brasileiro de 2020, e o jogador mais eficiente do São Paulo no Brasileirão, sendo o que precisou de menos tempo para balançar as redes.

Em suas redes sociais, o jogador deixou uma mensagem de carinho para a torcida e expressou sua gratidão ao clube.

Até o momento, o camisa 11 atuou em 58 jogos pelo São Paulo, balançando as redes em 27 oportunidades.

Desde o começo de 2021, porém, o atleta encarou alguns problemas com lesões, mas seguiu sendo importante no elenco, marcando o segundo gol da vitória da equipe diante do Palmeiras, na final do Paulistão, jogo que tirou o São Paulo da seca de títulos.

Atualmente em recuperação, Luciano já voltou a treinar com bola junto do restante do elenco e pode retornar aos gramados contra o Sport, no próximo domingo (23), às 20h30, na Ilha do Retiro, pela 17ª rodada do Brasileirão.

While it may not look like any IPL we are used to, it might just help us forget how broken our world is right now, at least for three-four hours every evening (give or take a Super Over). And that’s not good. Strategy punt He’s managed to recover from Covid-19, so what’s a little powerplay battle with one of the IPL’s greatest batsmen? Deepak Chahar has dismissed Rohit Sharma two times in six innings in the first six overs of a T20. Given away only 29 runs in 24 balls too. The only question is – can he somehow conjure some swing out in the desert? Mumbai are perhaps one of the few teams who wouldn’t be fretting the death overs, even when facing a giant like MS Dhoni. They have at least two bowlers who have been able to both keep him quiet and take him out. Jasprit Bumrah has dismissed the Super Kings captain three times in the slog overs (16 to 20) of a T20, while conceding only 39 runs in 33 balls. Nathan Coulter-Nile’s record is: 23 balls, 25 runs, two wickets.Stats that matter Totals in the UAE don’t usually turn out to be too big. The norm for the first innings of a T20 in Abu Dhabi over the last one-and-a-half years is less than 140. Mumbai have this thing with the opening game of a season – they haven’t won one of those since 2012. But that could change in a matter of hours given their outstanding record against Super Kings – eight wins in the last ten games. Mumbai’s spinners put together (Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Jayant Yadav and Anukul Roy) have a total of 61 IPL wickets between them. Ravindra Jadeja alone has 108. CSK will sense a big opportunity here. Kieron Pollard was invincible in the CPL: 207 runs at an average of 51 and strike rate of 204. Given he played most of those games on slow pitches, it seems a safe bet he’ll be able to showcase those destructive tendencies for Mumbai as well. Super Kings could try to mitigate his threat by using Imran Tahir, who has a favourable head-to-head record against the West Indian powerhouse: four wickets in 16 T20 innings, with a dot-ball percentage of 50. Super Kings’ bowing attack relies heavily on early success. In fact, since 2018, they have picked up 56 wickets in the powerplay, the best among all teams. Chahar is responsible for 25 of them, again the best among all teams. Early wickets on slow pitches means Dhoni can control the game so much better with the spinners to follow. Question is, will that work against Mumbai, who have a hitter as dangerous as Hardik Pandya lurking as low as No. 6.
